Whereas Beck attempts to support an overarching claim, the ideas presented in this project identify thematic parallels. Such readings are meant to offer further ways to interact with the world Watterson has created. In so doing, there is no normative claim for either Watterson’s intentions or for subsequent readings. In recognizing how consonant themes enrich the strip, there is no attempt to claim a structuring element.
